PORTFOLIO OF WEBSITES
SMALL BUSINESSES
This interior designer's work is shown off beautifully through exquisite photography, so I built her website around the photography by creating three galleries of rotating images. While we could have added captions, we choose to allow the viewer to enjoy the visual presentation without interruption. The addition of background sound is also a possibility.

Clear Intent Strategy is a strategic thinking and growth planning firm that enables executives to hone their leadership skills. Photos and color palette were carefully chosen to reflect calm and measured focus. A bit of flash in the client's logo adds a touch of movement and energy without overpowering the message.
"The site Danna created has energy and excitement - it feels like our company and tells our story in a way that IS our personality. Danna has a terrific combination of a creative eye, technical expertise, and a willingness to step out and push the boundaries to try new things. Clients and prospective clients continually compliment our look, our website and its content...some of them looking to Danna to update theirs!" -- MKM

This well known fine wine store in Annapolis had an existing website, but it was staid, and a poor reflection of their bustling business. Worse, the website didn't generate any sales for them. We employed Melissa Allen Design to create a fresh signature look, used in the website, brochures, and new signage. The website content now changes weekly, and traffic to the website is greatly enhanced by direct email newsletters, known as email blasts.
"Danna McCormick is a pleasure to work with. She is patient, she listens,
and she understands our needs. I have been and continue to be impressed with her work." - TR

Westchester Learning in Pelham, New York, offers a unique "brain-training" software to help kids with reading difficulties. This client needed more than 20 pages on the site, so I used a drop-down navigation which allows the client to present all of their different topics, but is still never more than three clicks for the viewer to get to where they want to go. This site also features a window of scrolling messages alerting viewers to upcoming events.
"Danna was great to work with. She was energetic, responsive and on-time. We started out with only a vague idea of how our site would work and Danna was able to guide us through the maze of possibilities, the result being a web site about which we are constantly complimented." -- GN

This Washington D.C. based interior designer was ready to promote her successful business on the internet with sideshows of before/after photos and captions explaining how small details create big changes.
"There's no question that the bossy color website has helped me land new clients. People rave about it! The site serves as an online portfolio, so it was essential that it be stylish and easy to navigate. Danna not only helped me organize the information into clearly defined pages, but she worked tirelessly to make sure that each page is beautifully presented. She worked through the tiniest details with me, and insisted that the site work on both PCs and Macs with several different browsers. She was a joy to work with - a consummate professional gifted in the art of communication as well as web design." -- ALE

Fowler Architects needed a way to display the breadth of their work projects in an easy-to-view format. Galleries for each project allow the viewer to see compelling before and after photos with quick mouse over navigation.
"After years of putting off creating a website, I finally hired Danna based on a recommendation of a colleague. It turned out to be a great decision, and I am extremely pleased with my website! Danna was easy to work with, and was good at leading me through the process since it was my first time." - JCF

This site was created for a summer ski camp in Texas that my sons went to and loved. The camp had dozens of pictures conveying the fun and energy enjoyed by the kids, which we used on every page.

This site features individual galleries of D.C. artist, Karen Kemp.
"Danna brought a lot of enthusiasm and creativity to the process of designing and building the website. As a result, my artwork has increased visibility, and put me in touch with new clients, as well as helped me to maintain a presence with former clients. Danna couldn't have made the process any easier or painless." - KK
NON PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
This refuge is a short bike ride from our home on Long Island and is a family favorite. When circumstances changed their traditional source of funding, it was time to overhaul the website and turn it into a pro-active, attention-getting, donation-soliciting resource.
"Danna has been fantastic to work with! She speedily designed a gorgeous website for the Refuge at a crucial time. Her professionalism and artistic design has been more than what we hoped for, and she continues to respond to our needs promptly. We are very proud of our website as it is very user friendly and it has received many compliments." - MN

This Foundation needed a fresh re-design of their site, incorporating new content. Most important to this non-profit was the ability to accept online donations using Visa and Mastercard, as a way to encourage year-end giving. The e-commerce set up also allows their supporters to purchase bricks (for a new school courtyard) online, and input a custom inscription. The implementation and on-going maintenance of the e-commerce element needed to be as trouble-free and easy-to-use as possible for this all-volunteer board.

This very active neighborhood association needed a multifaceted site that would present a large volume of information in a easy-to-navigate format. The 23 pages include an online merchant's guide to businesses within the historic district and as a resource for contacting neighborhood officials. Five pages detail current projects of the organization. Three pages are devoted to helping homeowners understand what it means to live in an historic district, how that impacts renovation projects and the permit process, and serves as a guide through the necessary architectural reviews.

American Small Manufacturers Coalition (ASMC) is a trade association which works to improve the innovation and productivity of America's manufacturing community.
"Danna's sense of vision helped me turn my site needs and objectives into something that was not only functional, but organized and appropriately designed for my members. She was able to turn a very daunting task into an easy, seamless process while producing a ever-changing content rich site. The site turned out exactly like I hoped and my organization is better today because of it." -- CH
